Do you like art and wonder what’s on exhibit in Rochester and Buffalo? The idea of First Fridays is to view and discuss art with other art lovers and talk with artists about their work and ask them questions about their process. Maybe when you see an artwork, you think about the main idea behind it. What did the artist feel at the time that it was made? It could be that the artist didn’t have anything particular in mind; he/she just wanted to make something to make you think.
Every first Friday the Photography Club goes to art galleries with Associate Professor of Photography and Art, Joe Ziolkowski. This month was no exception. On October 4, the Photo Club went to the following art galleries in Rochester:
- The Art Walk
- The Gallery Q
- Lumiere Photo
- Visual Studies Workshop
- Anderson Alley Artist Studios
- Rochester Contemporary Art Center (ROCO)
- RIT City Art Space
- The Hungerford Building Not only is this fun for art lovers but it’s a great way to socialize and make new friends outside your social circle. The club is always welcoming and willing to take students. And it’s also a great way to make connections with established artists around Buffalo and Rochester.
