The New Courier is looking for student writers, photographers, and graphic designers who can create front page articles, creative writing, club reports, articles about GCC sports, photos, or opinion essays. If interested, please contact email@example.com
The good news about the newspaper being online is that there are few limits as far as length of submissions. You can write as much as you need to cover the topic you choose. And the topic can be your choice! Pick something that is of interest to college students. You could report on something newsworthy around campus or pick another topic you are interested in. Front page articles need to adhere to standard journalistic standards (Who? What? When? Where? Why?)
Students might also be interested in registering for Journalism 101 — JOU101 [catalog description] Introduces the principles and practices of print journalism. Defines what constitutes news and discusses news gathering, news and feature writing, news editing, and ethical problems of journalists. Prerequisite: ENG101.
