Men’s Basketball Releases 2019-2020 Schedule

The athletics department at Genesee Community College is announcing the 2019-2020 schedule for the men’s basketball program. The team looks to rebound after a 15-14 season in 2018-19, which resulted in a fourth place finish in NJCAA Region III Division II action.
Entering his ninth season as head coach, Terry George will once again be looking to add another Region III Championship banner to the rafters as well as a return trip to the NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championships.
The season will officially begin November 2 and 3 at Corning Community College. The Cougars will play Corning on the 2nd and SUNY Broome on the 3rd. The first of 13 home games inside the Anthony T Zambito Gymnasium will take place on November 5 against Jefferson Community College at 7pm. Genesee will travel to Niagara County CC to play Allegany of Maryland on November 9 and Cuyahoga CC on November 10. The Cougars will return home to play Lakeland on the 15 before hosting a two-day classic of their own. November 16 and 17, Genesee will be hosting Monroe CC, Howard CC, and ASA College. The Blue and Gold will play ASA College at 6pm on November 16 and Howard CC at 2pm on November 17. Genesee will wrap up the month with games at Cayuga and at home against NY International Academy.
Heading into December, the Cougars will host Bryant & Stratton College of Rochester December 4 before hosting the Community College of Rhode Island, Schoolcraft, and Niagara County CC in the annual Cougar Classic December 7 and 8. The month will end with a two-day classic at Niagara CCC against Henry Ford and Hostos December 14-15.
The new year will see Genesee play at Bryant & Stratton of Rochester before hosting Herkimer. The Western New York Athletic Conference season will start on Wednesday, January 22 at home against Monroe Community College at 6pm. Games at Mercyhurst Northeast and home against the Erie CC Kats will wrap up the month.
February will see the Blue and Gold play at Niagara, home vs Jamestown, at Monroe, home vs Mercyhurst NE, at Erie, home vs Niagara and at Jamestown Community College. Playoffs will start on February 25 with the Sub-Regional game and end with the NJCAA Region III Championships on Sunday, March 1.
The 2019-2020 NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championships will take place March 18-22 in Danville, Illinois.
Women’s Basketball Releases 2019-2020 Schedule

The department of intercollegiate athletics at Genesee Community College is announcing the 2019-2020 schedule for the women’s basketball program. The team is looking forward to build upon 2018-19, which saw them place fourth in NJCAA Region III with an overall record of 17-11, and 5-5 in the Western New York Athletic Conference.
Christie McGee-Ross will be entering her 12th season behind the bench of the Blue and Gold and once again be joined by longtime assist Dena Piatek and for her second season, former Cougars standout De’Yara Burrell.
The season starts on October 12 as the Cougars will participate in the Onondaga Community College showcase and then play Bryant & Stratton on October 26th at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo. The Cougars will enter the month of November on the road at Corning Community College November 2 and 3 to play Corning and SUNY Broome. Genesee will play its first of 12 home games inside the Anthony T Zambito Gymnasium on November 5 against Jefferson Community College at 5pm. The Cougars will play in the tip-off tournament at Niagara County Community College the following weekend against Allegany of Maryland and Bryant & Stratton College of Albany. Home games against Onondaga, Lakeland, and Bryant & Stratton (Rochester) will wrap up the month.
The annual Cougar Classic set for December 7-8 will see Genesee host Niagara County Community College, Community College of Rhode Island, and Bryant & Stratton. Before the Cougar Classic, Genesee will host Bryant & Stratton College of Syracuse on December 4. Genesee will travel to Finger Lakes December 10 before playing in the Thunderwolves Classic at Niagara CC December 14 and 15 against Henry Ford and CCBC-Essex.
January will see the Cougars play host to Herkimer on January 14 before starting Western New York Athletic Conference play at Mercyhurst Northeast on the 25th and hosting Erie Community College on the 29.
February will see conference games against Niagara, Jamestown, Erie, and Mercyhurst Northeast. The playoffs begin with the sub-regional game February 26 before the Region III Championships the weekend of February 29 and March 1.
The 2019-2020 NJCAA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championships will take place March 18-22 in Harrison, AR.
Swimming and Diving Releases 2019-2020 Schedule

The department of intercollegiate athletics at Genesee Community College is announcing the 2019-2020 schedule for men’s and women’s swimming and diving team. The Cougars will be under the direction of first year swimming head coach Jeff Reyngoudt. He will be joined by Macy Reyngoudt and former Cougars swimmer Natalie Amico serving as assistant coaches.
The season will start on Wednesday, November 6 at the Erie CC Tri-Meet. The schedule shifts to Herkimer College on November 9 before participating in the two-day invite at SUNY Potsdam on November 23-24. The Cougars will swim into the new year on January 29 at the Monroe CC Tri Meet. The Cougars will host their two home meets on February 2 with the GCC Spirit Invitational at 1pm and then Wednesday, February 5 in their Tri Meet against Erie and Monroe at 6pm.
February 14-16 will be the NJCAA Region III/District Championships at Monroe Community College in Henrietta. The 2020 NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will take place March 4-7 at Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Florida.
